HOME

I offer private consultations for adults in both Princes Risborough and Chesham. The people I see in my counselling practice come for a variety of reasons. Some are referred by their doctor because counselling can help with depression or anxiety. Some have experienced a loss, perhaps the end of a job or relationship, or a bereavement. Others value a private space in which to reflect on their situation and explore what gives them meaning and purpose.

Whatever your reasons for thinking about counselling, I appreciate that choosing the right counsellor for you is an important decision. I usually suggest an initial meeting so that we can discuss your situation, and you can experience how I work. Together we can explore what options might be best for you.

Qualifications

In practice since 2008, I have worked in local charitable counselling agencies that offer a general counselling service, in a GP practice, as a Bereavement Support practitioner and as a pastoral care coordinator  providing CPD for volunteers.

My work is supported by a professional supervisor. I am committed to ongoing professional development through attending conferences, workshops and reading widely to develop my practice.

As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am bound by its ethical framework for good practice. BACP has a complaints procedure for use in the event of a dispute about professional conduct of its members.

Formal qualifications

University Diploma in Counselling (2008)

MA Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling (2011)

Fees

£50 per session for individuals

£60 for couples

There will be a charge for an initial consultation of upto 90 minutes. The fee for ongoing sessions can be negotiated at this initial consultation.

After the initial meeting(s), weekly sessions may be agreed where we both commit to meet at the same day and time each week. This commitment to a regular time each week is an important part of the counselling process, and so the fee will usually be payable whether or not you are able to attend.
